Gerry Poon became a Christian when he was a teen. Since conversion, he was active in serving God in the Youth-for-Christ club in his school as well as a youth leader in his first church.
After he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, Gerry joined Trinity Christian Centre in 1977. He has served as a lay leader in various ministries in the church – mainly teaching and leading children and youth. He has also served as a national leader in the Royal Rangers, a uniformed group under the Assemblies of God.
Gerry received his full-time call in 1985 and was appointed as a district pastor in TCC from 1988 to 2004. During those years, he has served in various portfolios – namely cell pastor, military chaplain, leading disaster relief missions as well as Christian Education pastor.
In 2004, Gerry left his home church in obedience to God’s call upon his life, to become the senior pastor of Harborlight Church. He is passionate in reaching people to Jesus, and has a heart to see young people saved, equipped and transformed to become leaders in the church and to live life to the fullest.
Gerry is married to Faith, and has two sons, Mitchell and Jeremiah. He was ordained as a pastor under the Assemblies of God of Singapore since 1998, and also attained a degree in Bible and Theology with the Assemblies of God Bible College, Singapore.
